On Board: T/S Kapitan Felix Oca

Name of Vessel: KAPITAN FELIX OCA

IMO No.:6903876

Call Sign:DYHH

Ship Type: Training Ship

DWT (Dead Weight Tonnage): 2794

Year Build: June 1968

Flag: Philippines

Program: Mechanical Engineering to Marine Engineering Bridging Program

Batch: 05

Department Designation: Engine

Task Given: To complete the 10 Days Shipboard Familiarization indicated on
the given checklist and to assist on minor work when needed.

During our stay on board T.S.K.F.O., its a good thing to have a hands-on experience. It is the first time that M.A.A.P. had sent Bridging Cadets to T.S.K.F.O. for shipboard familiarization. We also experience deck assignment: loading cargo using the cranes, even though we are engine trainees, we were assisted by the Bosun and Second Officer.

During night time it is nice to see the lights display along the coast of Manila Bay. During my stay I always sleep on the Poop Deck, because of the fine gentle sea breeze of the bay and it is very hot to sleep inside the cabin (no air-con).
